RAF Squadron Data 1939-45

This Zipfile compressed (103kb) MS Excel file (379kb) contains tables of historical RAF Sqn data including dates when operating in different theatres and the aircraft they flew there.
I have complied a series of Excel tables containing historical data for the first 400 RAF squadrons. The main table shows which theater of the war the squadron was active and a complete list of the planes they flew and the dates the planes were used.
The table is organized by Sqn number and date (in 3 month sections) with each entre colour-coded for the theatre. I created a separate table focusing on each theater from which I derive a frequency count of the number of squadrons using each type of aircraft.

Luftwaffe Geschwader
Squadron Data 1939-45

This Excel file contains tables of historical Luftwaffe geschwader (Sqn) data including dates when operating in different theatres and the aircraft they flew there.
Included are data for 775 Luftwaffe Geschwader and Gruppe.
The main table shows which theater of the war the squadron was active and a complete list of the planes they flew and the dates the planes were used.
The table is organized by geschwader designation and date (in 3 month sections) with each entry colour-coded for the theatre. I created a separate table focusing on each theater from which I derive a frequency count of the number of squadrons using each type of aircraft.
I don’t think any air force moved around as much as the Luftwaffe and so one geschwader may have passed through 4 countries in the span of 3 months.
